Gleichmann Electronics Announces NEC uPD720150 USB 2.0 Controller

NEC Electronics' µPD720150 integrated USB 2.0 controller, which immediately broadens Gleichmann Electronics' product portfolio, enables data transfers at rates up to 480 megabits per second. The newest member of the ECOUSB series combines on a single chip functions that formerly required separate USB host and USB peripheral controller ICs. By means of appropriate register settings, the two USB ports can be operated in four different configurations: one host port, two host ports, one peripheral port or one host port and one peripheral port, whereby the number of ports can be increased by connecting an external hub from NEC Electronics.
